Library Members Policy

New Patrons: Simply show your photo identification to receive a library card free of charge. You must present your library card each time you check out library materials. On the first use of your card, you will be limited to 3 items.

General Rules: Please feel free to ask for assistance; we are here to help you. If you need something the library does not have, we will try to obtain it for you. Parents are responsible for their children's library materials. Everything you check out in the library is free - unless you are in returning it.

Library Circulation:

  • Books - 2 weeks - Limit 15
  • Magazines - 2 weeks - Limit 15
  • Videos - 1 week - Limit 10
  • Audios - 2 weeks
  • Other - ask the staff

NOTE: Videos are not renewable. There will be a $5.00 charge for any videos put in the book drop.

Overdues:

  • Books and most other library materials are $0.10 per day, per item.
  • Videos and DVDs are $1.00 per day, per item.

Returns are your responsibility. If you do not return library property, you will first receive a phone call, than a letter, then another phone call, then the final letter. If you still do not return the items, you will be sent a notice by the local magistrate. At that time, the library is no longer involved.

Computer Usage:

Word Processing is available and documents can be printed for the cost of $0.20 per page. The Internet is available free of charge to registered users, but printing costs $0.20 per page. Users under the age of 18 must have our "Policy for Public Access to the Internet" agreement read and signed by a parent or legal guardian. Filtering software has been installed on all computers. Children younger than the sixth grade level can use the public computers unaccompanied if parents/guardians have given written permission.  Downloading is not permitted.
